Doctors embracing iPads as a clinical tool
As technology has become easier to use, more healthcare professionals are using it to deliver patient care. Apple's new iPAD has proven a big hit for doctors, nurses and home care providers who are always on the go but need access to patient medical history. In San Antonio, Dr. Robin Eickhoff takes care of patients at WellMed Clinic, usuing iPads like stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs and other tools from her doctor's kit. About a quarter of WellMed’s 120 doctors are already using iPads with their patients and plan to use it to access their new EMR system-wide by the end of the year. Article
