CASE STUDY #3 - KAISER PERMANENTE

Improving service while reducing costs

Kaiser Permanente (KP) is one of the nation's largest health care providers with 190,000 computers under management but struggled with a multi-billion-dollar rollout of a paperless system that required significantly improved incident management.

This project included investigation of Service Management using KP's Remedy help desk, IT desk-side services, and support with the goal of significantly reducing overall mean time to recovery (MTTR) for all incidents and the re-engineering of existing business processes.

After piloting the new support processes KP was able to achieve significant reductions in response times and demonstrated to its internal customers (physicians and other hospital personnel) that IT is responding to the changing needs of the business in creative ways with their technology partners.
